Wittersham School children are treated as individuals and encouraged to become independent learners. The school helps pupils to develop enquiring minds, a thirst for challenge and a ‘can do’ attitude. Expectations for learning and behaviour are high and their extensive extracurricular and enrichment programme highlights their commitment to the individual. The school aspires for their learning community to achieve high standards by equipping them with the skills to succeed and inspiring a lifelong love of learning.

As a church school there is a strong Christian ethos and their school values of respect, kindness, self-worth/perseverance, forgiveness and love are promoted and embedded within their daily lives. The latest Anglican School’s Inspection Report graded “the distinctiveness and effectiveness of Wittersham School as a Church of England school as outstanding … The school is shaped by its distinctive Christian values.”
Situated between Tenterden and Rye on the B2082. Wittersham CEP School is in a quiet location close to the church with extensive rural views. Children come to us from the villages of Wittersham, Stone–in-Oxney and Appledore and the surrounding area including East Susssex. We are a five class school. Children are taught in small groups with every child treated as an individual. Expectations for behaviour are high and the majority of our pupils go on to either Homewood in Tenterden or Highworth Grammar School for Girls or Norton Knatchbull Grammar School for boys in Ashford
Wittersham School is a Safeguarding environment. We are committed to encouraging equality and diversity across all aspects of school life.
Prospective parents are always invited to look around the school to get a flavour of the learning opportunities we provide
