Prayer bubbles at the Christmas service.
Many adults as well as children enjoyed blowing
prayer bubbles after the service.
We really loved taking a roving Nativity around some of the roads of Wittersham before Christmas.
We took two lambs and a Shetland pony as well as juice and sweets for the children and mulled wine and mince pies for the adults. We had many supportive comments like “Thank you, you have brought Christmas to us, we really feel that Christmas is here now”
We celebrated the first of four rural festivals in January. Farmer Ed and Farrier Paul brought the plough into the church which was then blessed. Many farms rely on animals for their livelihood so the Lovejoy family kindly brought two lambs into church and a prayer was said for all farm animals. We started with breakfast and the service was followed by a ploughman’s lunch.

We had a wonderful time replicating a Fete that was first held in the Rectory Garden in 1885. Many people came to enjoy the fun of sideshows, children's and adult races, Temperance tent, Beer tent, Fashion show and Baby show with much more. We were entertained by Wittersham's own "The Banned" and in the evening with Pete and Doreen and their friends. Tony Rawlins played his guitar and sang during the afternoon - evening interlude. A BBQ and last night of the Proms Wittersham style ended a most enjoyable day when we were pleased to welcome so many people to join in the fun.

What a fantastic evening we had when Cranbrook Town Band came to entertain us on St George's Day. As usual the band were brilliant and we were well supported by over 80 people coming to hear them.
Again thanks to the Band and how lovely to see our church being open to so many.

How wonderful it was to see so many people and especially the children on Easter Day.
On Good Friday the children (with help from Kathy) made us a beautiful Easter Garden at the front of the church. On Easter day they transformed it (with a little help from David) with flowers.
How beautiful it looks and really gives us the wonderful feeling that something very special happened at Easter!
He is risen! Jesus is risen indeed.

We had a very successful Art weekend in June. It is amazing how much local talent there is around the Isle of Oxney. We were very lucky to have 17 artists and photographers exhibiting their work. We served refreshments and some visitors ventured up the tower to enjoy the views. If you were lucky you would have seen our "resident artist" Karl Terry with his easel painting some magnificent pictures of the views one can only appreciate from the top of our tower. A great weekend. Thanks to all who exhibited and to our many visitors.

It came down originally in the storms of last October and suffered further damage with the ensuing inclement weather.
Gladly now, with the use of a crane and some excellent work by TeamTenterden it has new oak posts and is standing up fully restored. Thanks to Tony Mallet for this photo which shows part of the repair process.
